Last Friday marked the thirtieth anniversary of a monumental day in the life of Ballymote woman, Vera Dwyer's life. Thirty years on from the single lung transplant operation in Harefield Hospital, England, that saved her life, Vera told Tommy Marren about what has happened to her in the intervening three decades as she became the longest surviving single lung transplant patient in the world and how grateful she is to have had the opportunity to live a full life after being told that she only had five years to live when she was in her 40's.
