Ballina native Dr Norah Patten has long held a dream of heading into space - ever since she was a teenager in fact. She chatted with Tommy Marren this morning about being selected to take part in a unique scientist-astronaut training programme in Florida.
The Project PoSSUM (Polar Suborbital Science in the Upper Mesosphere) will teach the twelve candidates from all over the world who have been selected to conduct research on the next generation of space vehicles.
