Joseph (Joe) Rochford,

Gurteen, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo and formerly of Bracklaghboy and Caldragh, Knock - peacefully, in the loving care of Ave Maria Nursing Home, Tooreen on 24th November 2024.

Predeceased by his parents William and Marie Rochford, sister Catherine and brother Billy.

Joe will be sadly missed by his wife Mary, daughter Rita, sons Joseph and Sean.

Deeply regretted by sisters Eileen (Mulderrig), Della (Greene) and Josie (Whelan), brother John, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, daughters-in-law Noirín and Shelagh, grandchildren Mary and Michael, nieces, nephews and many friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Donnellan’s Funeral Home, Clare Street, Ballyhaunis (F35PK68) on Friday, November 29th from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral will arrive to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyhaunis on Saturday, November 30th for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in Ballyhaunis cemetery.

House private please.

To the Rochford family, our sincere condolences on the death of Joe. We had the benefit of Joes expertise over 20yrs ago, when we were building our house. We priced lots of builders providers much nearer Castlebar and when we got Joe in Gallaghers in Ballyhaunis we struck gold ✅ If you gave Joe the plans of the house, he would have a price for the job within a few days and he would advise on the newer method of doing things👍 i enjoyed each visit and gained so much knowledge from Joe .If i remember correctly i would head straight for Joe in the shop and only found our near the completion of the house, the boss was one of the other staff🫣 He loved the trade, the customers and a good bargain ! When i look around our house as i type this, i think what a gifted man Joe was and his advice has served our family well.✅ I hope Joe has a wonderful seat in Heaven tonight, for all his kindness and good deeds in his lifetime ❤️ May the fond memories you his family hold, sustain you in your loss.

It is with profound sadness that i read of the death of Joe Rochford and i wish to express my deepest sympathy to his wife Mary, daughter Rita, sons Sean and Joseph and their extended families at this very sad time in their lives. Having worked alongside Joe for over 30 years, I found him to be a true gentleman, no airs or graces to him , humble, kind ,hardworking, helpful, and honest. He was very knowledgeable of building and all it entailed and he was always upskilling himself with all the latest materials that came on stream.
He was a legend in his own lifetime and we will never see his likes again. May God grant him eternal rest and may God comfort all who mourn his passing. Rest in peace dear friend.
