Coslough Currane, Achill, Co. Mayo - (Boatbuilder), peacefully at St. Brendan’s, Mulranny on 23rd September 2023.

Predeceased by his parents John and Maggie, brothers Willie & John, sisters Bridgie, Una and Mary.

Deeply regretted by his sister Sarah, brother Austin, brothers-in-law Seán and Joe, nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Casadh an Taoile, Currane (Eircode: F28 W8K5) on Sunday, 24th September from 4:00pm with removal at 6:00pm to Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church, Currane.

Requiem Mass on Monday at 11:00am, with burial afterwards in Polranny cemetery.

In my youth when I came to Currane, Thomas and John would either make a boat available for my father to go see his old home on Achillbeg, or they would take us over in one of the boats they built. They were never too busy and always were so kind. As I grew older and returned, they would still take me over on the Noah Davitt. Thomas was a wonderful gentleman. Very special. Remembering Tom for a lifetime during my visiting time to Currane and the great welcome he had me and for everyone met during holiday time in Currane. My many and great memories of Tom taking me outfishing in the Yawl during my youth , Busy at work with John in the Boathouse workshop and the boat building tradesman's language the both spoke while working on the boats, meeting Tom in the Compass for a pint when the "day's work" was done are all special and cherished memories. We will all miss Tom and the many different way's he touched our lives with his unique and gentle personality. I am sorry I can't be there today .RIP Tom
