Rest In Peace Mick
May his gentle soul rest in peace
May he rest in peace
Ballaghaderreen has lost one of its great characters with the passing of Michael (Mick) McCormack. The big man was a brilliant photographer who documented so much of the social life of the region over the years. I only heard in recent days that he was coping with a serious illness. Mick (59) was always in jovial form. He was a great Roscommon supporter in the border town but had great friends in Ballaghaderreen GAA Club as well. Mick was always there to do you a good turn when the need arose. The huge queue at the reposing ceremony in Ballaghaderreen on Tuesday evening reflected the massive regard there was for Mick in Roscommon and Mayo. Mick was a friend to us all and he leaves behind a legacy of great memories as well as a treasure trove of photos that will endure for years. To his lovely mother, Phyll, his brother John and his sister Maria, and the extended family circle, my condolences to ye all at this very sad time.
May he rest in Peace.
