Paddy Cosgrove (better known as POC) former Chairman of Mayo Coounty Council.

Cloontakilla, Bangor Erris - peacefully at the Mayo University Hospital on the 9th February, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Jack & Mary, sisters Sheila, Mary, Anita and Margaret, infant brother Eddie & nephew David.

Paddy will be sadly missed by his loving wife & best friend Imelda (nee McHugh, Claremorris), daughters Mary & Anita, son-in-law Robert, brothers Martin, John & Tony, sister Rose, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends & neighbours.

Remains reposing at Daly’s Funeral Home, Bangor Erris F26C7N8 on Sunday, February 12th from 2 o’clock until 6 o’clock.

Please note there will be a break for the family from 4 o’clock until 4.30.

Funeral will arrive to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Bangor Erris on Monday for Funeral Mass at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Bangor Erris Cemetery.

Family time only at his residence on Monday morning please.

I have fond memories from the seventies when Paddy used to take myself and the other Erris lads to football training in Castlebar with the Mayo Vocational Team, we won the All-Ireland that year and Paddy played a big part in the success.
