Margaret Hegarty née Mullarkey,

Keerglen, Ballycastle and formerly of Aclare, Co. Sligo - peacefully, in the care of the staff of Tí Aire, Belmullet.

Predeceased by her husband Pearse and by her brother Paddy and her sister May.

Sadly missed by her loving family; sons John, Peter and Michael, daughters Breda, Philippa and Siobhan, much-loved grandchildren, sister Anne, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends, may she rest in peace.

Reposing at Lynn's Funeral Home, Killala on Monday from 5pm with removal at 7:30 to St. Brigid's Church, Ballycastle for prayers at 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 1:30pm followed by burial in Ballycastle cemetery.

The funeral mass can be viewed live on the Ballycastle Facebook page.

House private please.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland c/o any family member.

Margaret was a quick witted good humoured woman who regaled the company that she found herself in. Margaret told great stories of the time she worked on O'Connor's travelling shop from Ballycastle and by all account's, not alone did she and her colleague P.J. Langan keep the people of the hinterlands of North West Mayo well supplied but became the de facto doctor, social worker and politician to some of the people they served as many people at the time, did not have ready transport, few telephones and Dr. Google was yet to be conceived.
