Declan Hughes,
14 Woodlands, Balla, Castlebar, Co. Mayo - on 7th August 2022 in Galway University Hospital, following a long illness.
he was aged 56 years.
predeceased by his parents Seamus and Maisie (neé O'Hara) and his brother Peter.
He will be sadly missed by his loving daughter Siobhan (UK), his sisters Marion Hughes, Bernie Hughes-Cawley, Patricia Freyne and Tina Reddington, his brothers Jimmy (London) and Jerry (New York), nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
May he rest in peace.
Declan worked in London in the early 80's doing bar work and later in construction. On returning to Balla he worked as a painter and decorator. He was well respected and liked by all those he came into contact with.
Reposing at the Balla Community Funeral Home on Thursday 11th August 2022 from 6pm with removal at 7.30pm to St. Cronan's Church, Balla.
Funeral Mass on Friday, 12th August 2022 at 1.30pm, after which Declan will be laid to rest with his parents in the adjoining cemetery.
In accordance with best practice the funeral home will be walk through only and no handshaking please.
