Peacefully at University Hospital Galway, surrounded by his loving family.

Missed dearly by his loving wife Finola, and loving family Máire, Gearóid, Finola Óg and Thérèse and Gearóid’s fiancée, Adena. Brothers, Seán, Michael and Pádraig (Foxford), sisters, Mary Divilly (Galway) and ÚnaHannaway (Dublin), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins (Chicago), relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. Predeceased by his brother Tommie.

Gabriel will repose at Clarke’s Funeral Home, Foxford on Sunday 9th January from 5 o’clock to 6:30pm.  Walk through only and no handshaking in line with current Public Health & Safety guidelines please.

Removal on Monday morning to arrive at St Michael’s Church, Foxford for Funeral Mass at 11.00 with the funeral proceeding to Craggagh Cemetery.

I have very fond memories of my two week work placement in Shraheen N.S ten years ago. I remember Gabriel picking me up in the morning and dropping me home again in the evening after school and nothing was to much trouble. I will always remember how kind and gentle he was towards the children. They loved his history stories, Irish lessons and most of all would get extremely excited when he mentioned going outside to play football! I’ll always remember him playing in goals and the fun he had with the children! Once I finished school, he always had an interest in how college was going and in more recent years how my teaching job was going. He was a gentleman and will be missed by all who was fortunate enough to know him.
