Michael Gilvarry,
Rathoma, Killala, (The Masters Crossroads) – 27th December 2021 – peacefully in his 93rd year after a short illness in the excellent and loving care of his family and the staff of Ballina District Hospital.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Kathleen (Kay) nee Boland, his sister Eileen Slemon and brother Cannon James Gilvarry.
Michael will be sadly missed by his children Ann Kilawee, Cathrina O‘Flaherty, Mary Kilcullen, John, Michelle Munnelly, James and Thomas; dearly missed by his beloved sister Mary Deighan and his cherished thirteen grandchildren, great grandson, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
He dedicated his life from an early age to his work as a farmer, he was a keen gardener and loved life and all its joys. He was at one with nature. A lifelong member of the Pioneer Association and served as Steward of The Knock Shrine Society for many years.
Reposing at his residence The Masters Crossroads, Rathoma, Killala, Co. Mayo, F26 KP03 on Tuesday 28th December 2021 from 6 o’clock.
Removal on Wednesday evening to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Cooneal arriving at 6 o’clock.
Funeral Mass on Thursday morning 30th December 2021 at 11 o’clock followed by burial in Killala Cemetery, Killala.
