Tony McEntee

  • Mayo selector Tony McEntee has been hit with a proposed two month suspension, while the Mayo and Galway County Boards have been fined €4,000 each after an investigation into a prolonged incident in last Sunday’s game between the sides.

According to this morning’s Irish Independent, McEntee has the facility to seek a hearing for the proposed ban under rule 7.2(c) which governs misconduct by team officials.

  • Tony McEntee has been appointed as the new Sligo Senior Football manager.

The Crossmaglen Rangers club man has been handed a three year term.

The former Mayo selector will be joined by Crossmolina native Joe Keane as assistant manager along with Sean Boyle as strength and conditioning coach.

Sligo say they will appoint another selector in the weeks ahead.
