The Underdogs

  • A game in commemoration of the late Armagh GAA legend and former Mayo selector John Morrison will take place in Elvery’s MacHale Park on Saturday at 6:30.

    A team of Mayo legends from Morrison’s time with Mayo from 2004 to 2006 will take part in the curtain raiser.

    Ciaran MacDonald, Conor Mortimer, David Brady and Austin O’Malley are all confirmed for the game.

    Following that the Underdogs will clash with Allianz League Champions Mayo at 8pm.

    The Underdogs team will have one Mayo player on it - Fergal Owens from Mayo Gaels while Castlerea St Kevin’s player Christopher Dineen is also in the squad.

  • Mayo had twelve points to spare against the Underdogs last night in Elverys MacHale Park.

    Gary Boylan was the star of the show for James Horan's side finishing with 1-5.

    Mayo defeated the 2019 Underdogs 3-11 to 0-08.

  • A big crowd is expected in Elverys MacHale Park this evening for a unique double header.

    A Mayo legends team will take on a club selection at 6.30pm in honour of the late John Morrison.

    Then at 8pm Mayo will take on The Underdogs.

    James Horan has announced his starting 15 for tonight’s clash.

    Stephen Coen will captain the side.
