  • Roscommon LGFA have announced the appointment of former Mayo star Diane O’Hora as manager of their intermediate team commencing in 2021.

Diane is a former All Ireland senior winning captain with Mayo and has great experience and success in coaching and management.

She coached Down to win the All Ireland Intermediate title and has had provincial and league success with Longford and Meath.

She has also managed clubs in Meath and Dublin to county success as well as steering Roscommon club St Brigid’s to a Connacht senior club final appearance.

Diane joined Michael D. McAndrew on Sunday Sport to discuss her new appointment in more detail.

  • TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship semi-final

Roscommon v Westmeath – Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, Longford, 1pm – Live on LGFA Facebook

Both of these counties have appeared in previous TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Finals – Roscommon in 2005 and Westmeath six years later.

The winner of this dual will prevail to meet Clare or Meath at Croke Park on December 20th in the final.

Roscommon have fallen at the penultimate hurdle in 2018 and 2019 – beaten by Meath on both occasions.

For Westmeath, the motivation is to regain Senior status at the first attempt, following last year’s relegation.

Both teams have been impressive to this point, Westmeath putting Leinster opponents Louth and Longford to the sword, while Roscommon also got past two Leinster teams, Wexford and Offaly.

For Roscommon, Aimee O’Connor is their leading scorer with a 0-5 haul and the Westerners will need a very strong display to compete with a Westmeath side that will start as favourites.
