Niall Morahan

  • Niall Morahan has signed a new contract with Sligo Rovers as he becomes the first recipient of the new IT Sligo Scholarship programme with the club.

     

    The Republic of Ireland Under-19 international has penned a deal until the end of 2021 season and will begin his IT Sligo course in September.  Niall will be undertaking a business degree.

     

    As part of an agreement, two scholarships are co-funded annually by IT Sligo and Rovers. Niall is the first recipient.

  • Sligo Rovers U19 side travel to Ballybofey this evening to take on Finn Harps in Finn Park at 7:45pm

    Brian Dorrian’s side progressed to the Enda McGuill Cup semi final last Saturday with a 3-2 win over Cabinteely at The Showgrounds, and now face two games against North West neighbours Harps in the next four days.

    Rovers will most likely have to plan without Niall Morahan & Luke McNicholas who continue to be involved in the first team squad, and may be involved in Friday night’s cup match in Dublin.

    The home side are in fourth position in the table and will be looking to maintain their spot in the top four and qualify for the quarter finals.

    The sides meet again this Sunday at The Sean Fallon Centre at 2pm.

  • A Sligo Rovers player is named in the Ireland U19 squad to take on the Czech Republic tomorrow evening.

     Niall Morahan is named in the panel to take on the central European team in the final game of group B in the UEFA European U19 championships.

    The 19-year-old midfielder played three games for Rovers last season and is yet to feature for the Ireland team in their European campaign.

    The game kicks off at 6pm tomorrow evening and is live on RTE 2.
