Hall of Fame

  • Galway hurling great Conor Hayes is among 6 players being inducted in to the GAA Museum at Croke Park Hall of Fame for 2019.

The addition of 6 new Gaelic games stars to the Hall of Fame brings the total number of inductees to 54, across hurling and football.

Three hurlers and three footballers from the 1985-1989 time frame were announced in the same ceremony at Croke Park.

Hurling greats Nicky English of Tipperary, Conor Hayes of Galway and Antrim's Terence "Sambo" McNaughton and iconic footballers Denis "Ógie" Moran of Kerry, Meath's Colm O'Rouke and Larry Tompkins of Cork are this year's inductees.

Conor Hayes made his debut for the Galway senior hurlers in 1979 and went on to play a key role for the Tribesmen for over a decade, winning three All-Ireland and two National Leagues, as well as three All-Stars, and a number of club titles.
