Geevagh

  • The Neale will be aiming to secure a place in the Connacht Intermediate Football Championship Final on Saturday afternoon when they take on the Sligo Champions Geevagh.

    The South Mayo side were crowned county Champions over two weeks ago when they accounted for Ballyhaunis in the decider with a last ditch winner from Seanie Cosgrove.

    Standing in their way in Markievicz Park on Saturday is Geevagh who overcame Bunninadden in the Sligo decider.

    Throw-in is at 2pm.

    In the other semi-final Tulsk and Oughterard meet in Dr. Hyde Park at the same time.

    The Neale 4-13 Geevagh 1-11

     

    The Neale led by a point at the interval but scored three quick fire goals inside the first ten minutes of the second half to ease to an 11 point win in the end.

    Oughterard will meet The Neale in the final next weekend as the Galway Champions overcame Tulsk also by eleven points.
