GAA Championship

  • The GAA say all activity - including training - will not be permitted until Easter at the earliest.

It follows a meeting with government officials this week.

It’s also been decided that inter-county games are not permitted under the level-5 restrictions in place until March 5th.

As of yet the GAA has made no firm decisions on what competitions may or may not be facilitated in any revised fixture programme.

This latest development could have major implications now for the club/county split season with so much uncertainty in the air.

  • The Mayo hurlers get their Nicky Rackard Campaign underway tomorrow.

Derek Walsh’s side travel to Healy Park in Omagh to face Tyrone.

The game gets underway at 2pm.

Elsewhere, Sligo get their campaign up and running today with a difficult trip to Dundalk to face Louth at 3pm.

Tomorrow in the Christy Ring Cup, Roscommon host Kildare in Athleague at 12.45pm.

Meanwhile, the Galway hurlers get their Leinster Senior Championship campaign underway tomorrow afternoon at 3pm against Carlow in Pearse Stadium, Salthill.
