  • A man is due before the Castlebar District Court this morning, charged in connection with the seizure of more than €23,000 worth of suspected cocaine and cannabis in Ballinrobe yesterday evening.

    Gardai attached to the Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit, together with a specialist drugs dog, carried out a search of a house and outbuildings in the Ballinrobe area at about 7.30 pm.

    During the course of the search, €13,400 worth of suspected cannabis and €10,000 worth of cocaine were seized, and two men were arrested.

    One man in his early 30's was charged in connection with the seizure and is due before a sitting of the Castlebar District Court this morning.

    The second man was released without charge, and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

     

     

  • A man is due in court today charged in relation to a drugs seizure in Co Sligo.

    Gardai carried out a search of waste ground in Cranmore, Sligo on Saturday and discovered cocaine worth almost 178 thousand euro, cannabis with a value of over 13 thousand euro, and ecstasy worth just over 5 thousand euro, along with a quantity of ammunition.

    A man in his late teens was arrested in relation to the investigation.

    He has since been charged, and is due to appear before Sligo District Court this morning.

     

     

  • A man who was arrested in connection with a €60,000 drugs seizure in Sligo Town on Tuesday has been released from custody.

    Gardai arrested the man in his early 50's following the seizure of approximately €60,000 worth of suspected cannabis herb during a planned search of a house at Market Yard in Sligo.

    The man was arrested at the scene and was questioned at Ballymote Garda Station.

    Gardai said last night that the suspect has since been released from custody and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

    Investigations are ongoing.

     

  • One person was arrested earlier today, following a drugs seizure in Ballina.

    The divisional drugs unit, assisted by local Gardai, carried out a planned search of a house in St Patrick’s Estate and seized a significant quantity of suspected cocaine.

    One man was arrested and is being detained at Ballina Garda Station.

    Today’s seizure was part of Operation Thor, which is ongoing in the area.

  • A man was arrested and more than €31,000 worth of cannabis plants and herb seized, following a search of a house in Co Roscommon on Saturday.

    Gardai from the Roscommon / Longford Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search of a house in Knockroghery shortly before 5pm Saturday evening.

    A suspected cannabis grow house was located in two bedrooms of the house, and cannabis plants and a quantity of cannabis herb were seized.

    A man in his mid-20's was arrested at the scene and taken to Castlerea Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

    He's since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

     

  • The three men arrested in relation to the drug seizure at the two houses in the townland of Killasser, Swinford on Saturday evening last are due to appear before a sitting of Galway District Court this morning, at 10.30am charged in connection with the seizure.  

    Two houses were searched following surveillance by the Divisional Drugs Unit. 

    Cannabis plants at different stages of growth were discovered.

    The men are aged 44, 27 and 23 years old.

  • There has been a drugs and cash seizure in County Galway.

    A man in his late teens was searched at a residential complex in Salthill village at 9:30pm last night.

    250 euro worth of cannabis herb was seized, then gardai stopped a man and woman in their late teens.

    26 thousand euro worth of cash was recovered as well as cannabis herb, while more drugs and cash were seized in Salthill.

    Three people have been arrested and taken to Galway Garda Station.

  • Three people are due in court this morning, following a weekend drugs seizure in Co Sligo.

    Gardai searched a house in Cloonloo at about noon on Saturday and discovered a cannabis cultivation operation, seizing cannabis plants and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of over €200,000.

    A man and woman in their 30's and a man in his late 20's were arrested at the scene and are being detained at Ballymote Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

    The three are due to appear before Donegal District Court this morning

     

  • Two people are still in Garda custody this morning, after 170,000 euro worth of drugs was seized in Roscommon town yesterday.

    Searches were conducted at a number of houses in Roscommon under warrant, and Gardaí found cannabis and cocaine with an estimated street value of over €170,000 and a large sum of cash.

    A 20-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were arrested at two separate houses, and are both being detained at Roscommon Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
