The annual Afri famine walk takes place this Saturday - as the event enters its fourth decade.
Composer of the world-famous song "The Fields of Athenry" Pete St John will take part in this year's walk, to highlight the issue of climate change.
Oisín Coghlan, Director of Friends of the Earth and Hanny Van Geel are also leading this year's walk on the famine road in the Doolough Valley.
Walkers are asked to gather in Louisburg at 12 noon on Saturday for registration before the walk begins.
The Afri Walk is part of a Famine Walk weekend, which also includes a seminar entitled "Food for Thought", organised by Feasta and Afri, which takes place in GMIT Castlebar on Friday, starting at 11am.
