Ballina Stephenites

  • The reigning Moclair Cup Champions Ballintubber will face Ballaghaderreen in the senior county final.

Bidding for their 5th county title this decade the Abbey men showed all their experience to grind out a win against a Ballina Outfit full of inter-county forward talent on Saturday.

A goal from Ciaran Gavin in injury time put the Stephenites challenge to bed in a clinical performance from the West Mayo men.

Ballintubber manager Kevin Johnson said he was delighted with the manner in which his player’s closed out the game.

  • TG4’s sport documentary series Laochra Gael turns its attention to Mayo midfielder David Brady tonight.

David Brady lost four All-Ireland Finals with Mayo, and also won an All-Ireland Club title with his club Ballina Stephenites.

David’s story is told through the eyes of his proud brother Ger Brady, former Mayo Footballer and politician Alan Dillon, former Galway Footballer Seán Óg de Paor, broadcaster Seán Bán Breathnach and Irish Independent Journalist Vincent Hogan.

The episode will air at 9.30pm on tonight, with a repeat showing on Sunday at 4.55pm.
