Tracey and Orlaith

Our deepest condolences to Ferdia’s family and loved ones.

We don’t think we would have stayed friends for 30 years if it hadn’t been for Ferdia. He was the glue that brought so many of us together—always kind, always looking out for us, and always sneaking us free drinks and passes into the club when he was dj’ing! He even played our favourite songs (under duress, of course!) despite our highly questionable taste in music.

Just last night, we were reminiscing about days out in Bundoran and our adventures in Enniscrone—some of our happiest memories, made all the better with Ferdia at the heart of them.

Ferdia even convinced me that “Ultan” was the best name in the world while he babysat his nephew—and he was right. I later named my own son Ultan, as I totally agreed.

Thank you, Ferdia, for your kindness, your humour, and for being such an unforgettable part of our lives. When we think of our teenage years and all the memories—we’ll always think of you.

With love,
Orlaith & Tracey
