Maria gave so generously of her time to the Ballycroy community, especially throughout the 1980s and 1990s. She was a founding member and driving force of the Ballycroy Community Council, Social Services, Group Water Scheme, Chiropody service, and many other initiatives that continue to benefit the community to this day.
