Treasured memories of Bridgie– from early childhood until now.
Always a warm welcome with a big smile,
A taste of home, a gift to keep,
No need for rush, no cause for show,
Just warmth and laughter, to provide glow.
A voice that soothed, and gave advice.
You’d sit and listen, slow and wise,
With steady hands and watchful eyes,
You made everyone feel pride.
Warm bread after the winkles,
Sandwiches stacked, just in case,
And on the fire, crisp and slow,
Boxy with a golden glow.
So here’s to moments, rich and bright,
The echoes left in the firelight,
A cup, a plate, a glass, a voice so free—
These simple things still comfort me.
May Bridgie Rest in Peace. Thinking of all my cousins at this very sad time. Sending love.
