TONIGHT - Monday 25th March

Mainly dry tonight but cloudy with some clear spells. Lows of 1 to 3 degrees, but dipping below zero under clear skies with some grass frost developing inland. Winds will be light and variable, allowing some patched of mist to form towards dawn.

TOMORROW - Tuesday 26th March

A similar day tomorrow, generally dry with spells of sunshine in moderate westerly winds. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees.

National Outlook

Tuesday night: Dry and cold on Tuesday night with mostly clear skies. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees with some frost over southern parts.

Wednesday: It looks set to be another predominantly dry day on Wednesday apart from a few patches of drizzle in the north and west. Good sunshine across the south and east, somewhat cloudier further north and west, especially through the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will range 11 to 14 degrees in gentle southwest breezes. Clear spells and patchy cloud overnight. Temperatures dipping to between minus 1 to plus 2 degrees under prolonged clear spells in Munster and south Leinster, but staying at 4 to 6 degrees under cloud cover further west and north.

Thursday: It will be a dry day for much of the country on Thursday, with patchy cloud and sunshine. It is likely to be the sunniest day of the week and consequently temperatures will be above average reaching highs of 12 to 16 degrees in light to moderate southwest winds. Cloud will increase from the northwest on Thursday night with some patchy rain and drizzle developing in the coastal fringes of the northwest by dawn. Lows of 2 to 7 degrees, coldest under clear spells in the east.

Friday: Current indications are for a mostly cloudy day with patchy light rain and drizzle likely to affect parts of Ulster and Connacht. Some sunny spells may prevail in parts of Leinster, however. Highs of 11 to 14 degrees, but 15 degrees is possible where sunny spells occur. Southwesterly winds will be mostly moderate in strength, fresh at times in the northwest. Friday night will be mostly cloudy with patchy light rain and drizzle in the northwest spreading elsewhere overnight. Lows of 3 to 6 degrees.

Next Weekend: A cooler weekend in prospect. Starting out rather cloudy with patchy light rain and drizzle but brightening up later on Saturday afternoon. Mainly dry and calm with some sunshine on Sunday. Maxima on both days will be around 9 to 11 degrees with night-time frosts.
