Ballina District Hospital to remain a 50-bed facility

Ballina District Hospital will remain a 50 bed facility. That news was confirmed to Midwest News this evening
by local Fine Gael TD Michelle Mulherin. There was concern that a number of beds were to close this year because of the number of staff retiring and the recruitment
embargo. However Deputy Mulherin says that agreement has now been reached on bringing in home help staff who had their hours cut to cover hours in St. Joseph’s District Hospital in Ballina.
