Connacht Rugby player to retire because of injury

Connacht Rugby's centre Keith Matthews has announced that he is to retire permanently from the sport following his failure to fully recover from a ruptured Achilles that he picked up during the Captains Run before Connacht's clash with the Cardiff Blues in April.

Matthews has earned 100 caps during his service for the province.
