Mayo well-represented on Ireland International Rules squad, with first game in Adelaide on Sunday

Mayo footballer Aiden O’Shea is captaining the Ireland International Rules squad, who have begun their preparations in Australia for the start of the 2017 two-game series in Adelaide on Sunday.

The Irish players and management landed in Melbourne earlier this week, where they will remain until tomorrow (Thursday) before flying to Adelaide for next Sunday’s match against Australia in Adelaide.

The second game will be held in Perth on Sat 18th November.

Joe Kernan and his management team of Pádraic Joyce, Darragh Ó Sé and Dermot Earley have assembled a 23-man squad drawn from 15 counties.

Captain Aidan O’Shea is joined by Mayo colleagues Chris Barrett and Brendan Harrison, while Ballaghadereen native Pearce Hanley who’s based on the Gold Coast, is also on the Irish squad.

Roscommon’s Enda Smith, Shane Walsh from Galway and Sligo’s Niall Murphy are also included.
