Mayo’s David Clarke and Andy Moran are among the four nominees for the Footballer of the Year award which will be announced in Dublin later this evening and televised on RTE One at 7pm.

Dublin’s Stephen Cluxton and James McCarthy are also in the running for the prestigious award.

The 2017 Football All Stars will be revealed at tonight’s event.

The Hurling All-Stars will also be honoured with their awards at tonight’s banquet in the Convention Centre.

It was confirmed yesterday that seven members of the Galway side are among the 2017 Hurling All Stars.

Corner-back Padraic Mannion, centre-back Gearóid McInerney, and full forwards Conor Whelan and Conor Cooney are all first-time All Stars.

Dáithí Burke, David Burke and Joe Canning round off the Galway contingent.
