The new GAA season may be a number of weeks away but already in Galway changes have been made to the 37 man panel announced at the end of November.

Long term injuries have ruled out captain Shane Kavanagh and Richie Cummins while forward Bernard Burke and goalkeeper James Skehill have been released from the squad.

Burke has been released due to study committments in Waterford. Athenry goalie John Grealish has been called up in place of James Skehill.

Galway will begin their campain when they put their Walsh Cup title on the line against Carlow or DIT on January 23rd.
