Busy weekend for Mayo karate stars at home and abroad
It was a busy weekend for Mayo competitors at the National Karate Championships.
Aaron McLoughlin from Swinford was crowned national 67KG champion.
Meanwhile Shauna Mullaney picked up 2 silver medals and a trophy for best fighter on the day, while Liam Codd won two silver in his own weight and open weight. Both are training with Kevin Loftus in Swinford Karate Club.
While at a European tournament in Luvern in Switzerland the Irish team won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Odhran Daly of Mayo Abbey-Balla was a member of that team, while Nigel Prendergast from Letterfrack was a coach.
