Mayo's Pearce and Cian Hanley have returned to Ireland from their respective clubs in the Australian Football League.

The brothers have travelled home to be with their younger brother Tommy who is battling cancer.

A joint-statement from the Gold Coast Suns and Brisbane Lions said both sides will "provide all the support the family needs during this challenging time".
