The death has taken place of former Mayo footballer Willie Casey.
Mr Casey was regarded as one of Mayo’s most impressive ever footballers and his career with the senior team spanned 13 years from the early fifties in the early sixties.
He played as a defender with Mayo and was a sub on the All-Ireland winning team of 1951.
The Ballina native passed away yesterday morning.
Willie’s remains will repose at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina today from 5-7pm.
He will be laid to rest tomorrow in Leigue Cemetery Ballina following 11am Funeral Mass in St Muredach’s Cathedral Ballina.
