Amy O’Connor from Knockmore, Co Mayo has been named the 2016 Connacht Young Player of the Year.

The provincial young player of the year awards will be presented at the TG4 All-Stars in Citywest on Saturday.

A number of Mayo footballers have also been nominated for the 2016 All-Star awards – including Sarah Tierney, Fiona McHale, Niamh Kelly and Cora Staunton.

The TG4 All-Star award winners will be announced on Saturday, along with the Junior, Intermediate and Senior Player’s Player of the Year Award winners.
