A Mayo businessman has offered to donate €10,000 towards the hiring of a full time commercial manager for Mayo GAA.
A Mayo County Board meeting was told that there was a necessity for a commercial manager at this stage but County Board Chairman Mike Connelly told delegates that they couldn't afford it this stage. He said the MacHale Park debt is costing €30,000 per month. He says they were quoted €50,000 to hire a full time commercial manager. He said while there is a market out there to be tapped into, they couldn't afford that sort of money.
On Twitter last night Castlebar native Niall McGarry, who runs the successful Joe.ie, sportsjoe.ie and her.ie, said he would be more than happy to donate €10,000 towards the cost.
