The saga of who will manage Roscommon senior footballers in 2017 looks set to come to an end this week.
Kevin McStay is the only candidate in the running.
The Roscommon Herald reports that following Nigel Dineen’s decision to withdraw from the race, the path is clear for Mr McStay to take over.
This year, the Mayo native was jointly in charge with Fergal O’Donnell, but Fergal stood down at the end of the campaign, stating that the partnership could not go on.
Last week, Nigel Dineen released a statement, saying he had strong reservations about the integrity of the selection and recruitment process.
It’s expected Kevin McStay will be ratified as Roscommon manager later this week.
