Former Mayo footballer Eddie Maguire attempts to make golfing history this week, in Italy, when he tries to win his 3rd consecutive Italian Open title. If the Blacksod man succeeds he'll become the first ever golfer professional or amateur to win 3 Italian Open titles in a row. The visually impaired former teacher will be competing against an elite international field in this tournament for visually impaired golfers. The championship is from Oct 4 - 8th at the Barlassina GC outside Milan.
Eddie is also the current Austrian Open champion.
