Galway senior football & hurling managers ratified for a further 3 years

The Galway county board have given a resounding vote of confidence to both of their senior inter-county managers.

Two-time All-Ireland winner Kevin Walsh has been handed a further three-year term at the helm of the county's footballers after taking-on the job in 2014 and leading them to this year's Connacht title.

Meanwhile, despite being appointed just last year, Michéal Donoghue has also been handed a further three years in charge of the Galway hurlers.

And former Galway hurling manager Anthony Cunningham is believed to be in the running to be the next Cavan football manager.

According to reports, the Cavan county board will approach Cunningham about the position.

He guided the Tribesmen to two All-Ireland hurling final appearances in his four years in charge, and spent this summer as a coach with the Laois footballers.
