An experimental Mayo side got their Connacht GAA Senior Hurling League campaign off to a winning start last night with a 12-point win over NUIG at the Connacht Centre of Excellence in Bekan.

The final score was Mayo 4-10   NUIG – 0-10

First-half Mayo goals from Kenny Feeney, Ciaran Charlton and Corey Scahill set up the platform this Mayo victory, while Mayo’s fourth and final goal came from substitute Kieran McDermott.

The Mayo side now face Roscommon on Saturday in Athleague at 2pm.
