All-Ireland U21 football championship could be cut, as GAA tries to ease concerns over player burn-out

The All Ireland Under-21 Football Championship is potentially on the chopping block as the GAA attempts to ease concerns over player burn-out and fixture crowding.
GAA Director General Paraic Duffy has published a discussion paper today, which not only proposes removal the Under-21 grade in football, but also changing the Minor grade from Under-18 to Under-17.
The scrapping of the National Football League semi-finals from 2017 has also been suggested along with moving the All Ireland hurling final back to the last Sunday in August and the All Ireland Football final to the first Sunday in September.
Mr Duffy also proposes the idea of replays - only if a game finishes level after extra time.
