Republic of Ireland Men's Darts team through to World Cup Final

The Republic of Ireland Men’s Darts team, managed by Mayo’s Ollie Monaghan, will compete in a World Cup Final for the first time ever. The team is captained by Roscommon’s David Concannon.

The team defeated Finland 9-6 in the semi-final yesterday to place them in the final against England, who overcame Northern Ireland 9-4 in the other last four clash.

Ireland had trailed 4-2 at one stage, then led 6-4, which was pulled back to 7-6 but pushing on to win 9-6.

The final will be played around 4pm local time today.

Meanwhile the Ladies team bowed out at the semi-final stage, losing 9-5 to England, despite a spirited performance. They have secured silver medals.
