Republic of Ireland Darts team through to semi-finals of team event at World Cup of Darts

The Republic of Ireland's Men’s team led by captain David Concannon from Roscommon and manager Ollie Monaghan have reached the semi-finals of the Team Event of the World Cup of Darts after they defeated Norway, Catalonia, Greece and France in the group stages and beat Scotland 9-5 last night in the quarter-finals.
The team is guaranteed medals at this stage and will play Finland in the semi-final on Friday. The other 3 players are Sean McGowan from Sligo, Benny Grace from Kilkenny and Dave O’Connor from Dublin.
The other semi-final sees England take on Northern Ireland!
David Concannon fared best of the men in the Singles event yesterday, reaching the last 16 and narrowly lost out to John Michael from Greece.
The pairs event is on today!
All semi-finals are Saturday and the finals on Sunday.
The Republic of Ireland ladies have reached the quarter-finals of the 'team event' and will play Denmark today in a bid to reach a semi-final and a guaranteed medal.
Mayo's Ron Skeffington and Catherine Fleming had no luck in the pairs, while the other pairing of Robyn Byrne of Dublin and Caroline Breen of Galway have reached the semi-final of the pairs event, and will play Claire Brookin and World Champion Lisa Ashton on Friday. All the ladies are in action again today in the singles event.
