James Horan rules out return as Mayo Senior Football manager

James Horan has ruled out a return as Mayo Senior Football manager. Despite speculation linking him to the post since the resignation of Pat Holmes and Noel Connelly, Horan ruled out a return to the post he left last year.

Writing in Monday's Western People and Daily Star he said that he did consider putting his name forward for a short time after the joint managers' resignation but decided against it.

He said he is enjoying his involvement with various teams in various codes and his media roles.

Corofin manager Stephen Rochford remains the bookies favourite for the job, with reports over the weekend that he has been assembling a strong backroom team. Corofin beat Mohill in the Connacht Club Championship on Sunday and Rochford reiterated after the game that his focus remains firmly with the Galway club.
