Niall Joyce secures second All-Ireland Final spot

Niall Joyce secured his second All-Ireland Final spot when he and follow Claremorris club mate Patrick Murphy defeated Limerick duo Evan Murphy and Noel O'Callaghan in three games in the All-Ireland Minor Doubles Semi-final at Cappagh last night.

The duo lost the opener 21-18 but rallied well to secure their place in the final by winning the second 21-10 and the third by the same scoreline.

The talented Joyce already booked his place in the All-Ireland Minor Singles Final next Saturday at Abbeylara as he beat Murphy in two games last weekend.

Mayo Senior Doubles duo, Dessie Keegan and Joe McCann bid for another tilt at a first senior softball title when they take on Dublin pair, Eoin Kennedy and Carl Browne in the senior doubles semi-final at Abbeylara this evening at 6pm while Limerick take on Kilkenny in the other semi-final.

Mayo handballers Vinnie Moran and Joe Dowling are in semi-final action this afternoon at Castlebar from 3pm against Munster opposition while Eugene Maloney is in action on Sunday at Collooney.

Tom McCormack, Michael Ginley and Tom Sweeney all make the long trip south to take on Munster opponents in further semi-finals this weekend.

St. Coman's host the Connaught Juvenile A finals this afternoon with Mayo featuring in five on the eight finals.
