Mayo receive 7 Football All-Star nominations with Diarmuid O'Connor shortlisted for Young Player of the Year

Mayo has received seven GAA/GPA Football All-Ireland nominations in the list of 45 published this morning, while Diarmuid O’Connor has been shortlisted for Young Player of the Year.

Recently crowned All-Ireland Champions Dublin lead the way with 11 nominations and they are followed by beaten finalists Kerry who have eight.

Tyrone also has seven nominations.

Mayo defenders Keith Higgins, Lee Keegan and Chris Barrett have been shortlisted, along with Tom Parsons at midfield along Cillian O’Connor, Diarmuid O’Connor and Aiden O’Shea in the forwards.

Diarmuid O’Connor is shortlisted for Young Player of the Year along with Donegal’s Ryan McHugh and Monaghan’s Ryan Wylie.

Bernard Brogan, Jack McCaffrey and Philly McMahon from Dublin are all shortlisted for Player of the Year.

The awards will be presented at the Convention Centre in Dublin on Friday November 6th.
