Future of Mayo Senior football management team uncertain, following vote of no confidence by players

Reports this morning suggest that the future of the Mayo Senior Management team is uncertain, following a vote of no confidence in them by the players.

Midwest Sport understands that the majority of the senior squad met over a week ago to discuss some of the matters they weren't satisfied with during the course of the season.

It is understood that the majority of the playing squad voted no confidence in the management.

Both this morning's Mayo News and Connaught Telegraph carry reports on the story, with the Mayo News claiming that two members of the team representing the players met with the management in Castlebar last Sunday evening to advise them of the decision. The Connaught Telegraph reports that the Mayo County Board will call an emergency meeting in the coming days to discuss the situation.

Pat Holmes and Noel Connelly took over as senior managers last year after James Horan stepped down from the position.

Midwest Sport has contacted the Mayo County Board for comment on the reports and are awaiting a response.
