Swinford's Aishling Forkan scaled new heights over the weekend when she scooped a bronze medal in the Senior Womens 200m final at the All Ireland Indoor Athletics Championships in Athlone, in her second major event of the week.
The step up in class to senior level did not intimidate the sixteen year old Swinford athlete, and instead seemed to bring out the best in her.
Not alone did she secure the bronze medal amongst the cream of Irish female sprinters, she also set a massive new personal best of 24.4 seconds, knocking a full half second off her previous best.
Earlier in the day she had also qualified for the Senior Womens 60m final, where she also set a new personal best of 7.7 seconds.
