Busy day of Nations Cup showjumping sees Mayo riders impress

A busy day of Nations Cup show jumping saw two Co Mayo riders produce impressive performance for Ireland yesterday in France and Denmark.

Claremorris born Cameron Hanley helped the Irish team to joint third place in the five star nations cup at La Baule, Hanley knocked just one fence in eack round with Antello Z, in a competition which was won by the home team from France

Meanwhile at Odense in Denmark, seventeen year old Michael Duffy from Knockmore, who was making his senior nations cup debut, also impressed as he finished with two fences down in each round with Murchu over a demanding course at the Danish venue.

Great Britain won the competition with a team made up entirely of Irish bred horses, with Ireland finishing seventh of the 12 competing nations.
