Derry City advanced to the quarter finals of the EA Sports Cup last night, after defeating Sligo Rovers 1-0 at the Showgrounds.

Rory Patterson’s first-half strike was enough to see the ten-time winners overcome Sligo for the second time this season.

Meanwhile next Saturday, Sligo Rovers take on Dundalk in the Setanta Sports Cup Final – that games kicks off at 4pm at Tallaght Stadium.
