Mayo Ladies legend Cora Staunton is set to become a professional Aussies Rules player after joining the Greater Western Sydney Giants today.
Cora landed in Australia earlier this week and tried out for her new club.
She has become the first overseas player ever to enter into the AFLW draft.
Cora will arrive back in Ireland on Sunday morning, where she says her focus will be fully on her club Carnacon’s battle with Kilkerrin/Clonberne on Sunday week in the Connacht Senior Football Final.
Cora told Midwest Sport earlier that it has been a hectic few days but she is looking forward to the challenge.
