Michaela Walsh of Swinford AC threw 15.08m to set a new championship best in the U17 girls shot putt at the Woodies DIY Juvenile Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Athlone this weekend.  The winning distance broke the old record of 13.97m which had stood since 2007. Also in flying form for Swinford AC was Aisling Forkan who scored a hat trick when she won three individual bronze medals over the weekend in the U17 long jump, 60m and 200m races.
